Located on 200 acres in Anna, Texas—minutes from McKinney, Frisco, and Melissa—Buckley Farms Performance Horses has been a pillar of North Texas’ horse community for four generations. We’re a family-run operation where Western traditions meet modern expertise, specializing in reined cow horse, reining, and ranch horse training. From starting young prospects to refining seasoned show horses, our programs are built on patience, trust, and time-tested horsemanship that’s as wide-open as the Texas sky.
More Than a Facility: A Working Ranch
This isn’t just a training barn it’s a true Texas working ranch. Alongside our 47-stall facility, lighted arenas, and scenic trails, we manage hay production, cattle, and horse sales with the same pride we bring to training. Every corner of our Collin County acreage reflects a commitment to horsemanship that’s rooted in the land and handed down through generations.
Training Built for Every Horse (and Rider)
We believe greatness starts with a solid foundation. Our training philosophy prioritizes clear communication, individualized care, and partnerships that are tougher than a longhorn's hide. Whether you’re prepping for the show pen, honing ranch skills, or simply building confidence in the saddle, we tailor our approach to fit your goals—
no shortcuts, no gimmicks.

Scott Buckley
Scott Buckley’s life has revolved around horses since before he could tie his boots—the son of a riding instructor and grandson of a horse trainer, he cut his teeth in the show pen competing across all-around Western events, reining, and reined cow horse. A Texas Tech alum, he honed his craft under Southwestern skies, training and showing horses in Arizona and Texas while cultivating a reputation for blending old-school horsemanship with show-pen grit. Today, his deep passion for reined cow horse shines through a trophy case of accolades, including AQHA World Show qualifications, Texas Ranch Horse Championships, and a legacy of mentoring riders from greenhorns to Youth World finalists. Scott’s philosophy? Greatness isn’t rushed; it’s built on trust, patience, and a lifetime of dust in his boots.
Scott Buckley’s trophy wall reads like a Western performance playbook: AQHA World Show Qualifications in Working Cow Horse, PHBA and NSBA World Titles, PRCHA Hackamore Derby Reserve Championships, and back-to-back Open Ranch Cutting and Cow Horse titles at ETXSH—all crowned by his 2024 Texas Ranch Horse Championship. But beyond the ribbons and accolades, Scott thrives on transforming potential into polished performance.
As a clinician and coach, his non-pro, amateur, and youth riders have earned AQHA Youth World Top Ten finishes, L3 Finalist honors, and 2024 Grand Championships in Ranch Cutting, Cow Horse, and beyond. Whether refining a horse’s spins or mentoring the next generation, Scott’s commitment is round-the-clock as he lives on-site at Buckley Farms, ensuring every horse and rider gets the meticulous attention that turns skill into show-ring success.
Jeff Buckley
Jeff Buckley’s horsemanship is as layered as the red dirt of North Texas—30 years in the game, with a track record in NRCHA and NRHA competitions that speaks to his mastery of reining, cow horse, and Western performance disciplines. As the founder of Jeff Buckley Performance Horses, he’s carved a niche as a futurity whisperer, specializing in molding two-year-old prospects into poised contenders ready to tackle NRHA Derbies and NRCHA Futurities. A former NRHA judge, Jeff pairs his show-pen savvy with elite industry connections, crafting training programs that blend precision, patience, and the kind of foundation that turns raw talent into show-pen poise. Whether prepping a prospect for a pro’s hands or setting up non-pros for success, Jeff’s philosophy is simple: Start right, finish strong, and let the results speak for themselves.
With a lifetime in the saddle and an eye for talent, Jeff Buckley knows how to bring out the best in every horse he trains: multiple breed association World Show finalists in Reining, Working Cow Horse, and Western Riding, alongside podium finishes at the NRHA Futurity, NRBC Derby, and regional derbies. But his true talent lies in sculpting two-year-old prospects into poised, confident partners ready to shine in three-year-old futurity programs. With a foundation built on patience and precision, Jeff’s horses step into pro and non-pro barns with the kind of “no drama” starts that make trainers grin.
A former NRHA judge with deep ties to elite NRHA and NRCHA trainers, Jeff pairs show-pen savvy with a network that spans the industry. Whether he’s prepping a young prospect for their first futurity or fine-tuning a seasoned competitor, his approach stays rooted in one truth: Great horses aren’t made overnight—they’re crafted with care, clarity, and a lifetime of Texas horsemanship in his back pocket.
